Boston Magazine has an impressive round-up of Boston murderers, dating back to 1849.

But but but! Louise Woodward, of the 1997 "Nanny Trial" in which she was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of 8-month-old Matty Eappen (the conviction was later changed to involuntary manslaughter and Woodward's was sentence was reduced to time served) is notably absent. What a pity! That trial was so epic. And it gave us the term "shaken baby syndrome" which I think we can all agree has been a great gift.
